Secrecy surrounds the wedding of Kiwi songbird Hayley Westenra after she signed a lucrative women's magazine deal.
Westenra's father, Gerard, yesterday would not say if his daughter had tied the knot with her French fiance, Arnaud Sabard.
However, Woman's Day editor Sido Kitchin today told The Press Westenra tied the knot in front of about 90 guests at an undisclosed North Canterbury location last Sunday.
She said she was "thrilled" to be sharing the wedding in the magazine's next issue.
"Hayley was the most beautiful bride, and despite persistent rainfall, it was the happiest of occasions," Kitchin said.
A wedding guest, who declined to be named, also confirmed the nuptials happened last weekend.
Deals for celebrity weddings vary in price but can often involve tens of thousands of dollars.
The 26-year-old international singing star, who hails from Christchurch, became engaged to the French sound engineer in early 2012.
Westenra first met Sabard when he was working as a sound engineer on one of her tours.
