Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE ALMOST GREAT: Louise Roe always takes fashion risks, and while I LOVE the colour of this Monique Lhuillier dress, I do think it looks a bit 'Supre' with that bandeau neckline. Not that there's anything wrong with Supre, they're my leggings lifeline, but Supre leggings don't cost thousands of dollars.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE WRONG PERSON: It's almost like Aubrey Plaza's stylist went - 'I'm going to dress you the least like Aubrey Plaza as possible' with this Oscar De La Renta number.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE MEH: Did Monica Potter think she was going to the Country Music Awards? (I do love her nails though).
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
A BEST CONTENDER: When I heard that my new fashion idol was going to wear Ralph Lauren to the GGs I was a bit like, 'meh' but hot dang I was wrong. The 12 Years A Slave star works this caped gown way better than Gwyn did back in the day.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: While I'm not a fan of her one-side-heavy hair, I do actually like this Oscar de la Renta gown and caraco (but maybe I'm blinded by my love for New Girl). While, yes, the top to skirt relationship isn't super flattering, it is super pretty, and it is very Zooey.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: That colour - even though it basically matches her skin - works well on Anna Gunn, and while I'm usually not a fan of dresses that vomit out along the red carpet, Donna Karen knows what she's doing. Ooh, that shiny material does give me a bit of a flammable issue panic attack though.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: I'm not jumping up and down over this Gucci on Margot Robbie, but it's a big improvement from her Wolf of Wall Street red carpet run. I love the green detailing, I am, however, a little stressed out about that split.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BAD: First things first, what's going on with Amber Heard's hair? That's pretty much what I look like in the morning if I forget to take my 'face washing bun' out. Also, this Versace gown is at once very 'actress-in-her-late-60s-looking-hot' and also very 'Jolie-leg-on-steroids'. (ooh, and PS: We've been discussing how Heard looks like a long lost member of the Ridge family. Thoughts?).
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GREAT: Naomi Watts won the Oscars in a metallic gown, and she's a contender for winning the GGs in this sleek Tom Ford. Hubby Liev is looking sharp too.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: I like how Masters Of Sex star Caitlin Fitzgerald has dressed almost like her character, and while in the up close shot it looks like she's wrapped my bed throw around her neck, she actually totally works this Emilia Wickstead dress - and those Wickstead pumps are my fave shoes so far.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE MOST IMPROVED: This is likely to be a controversial one, but I dig this Zac Posen gown on Lena Dunham: it's far less ageing than her navy choice at last year's GGs, it's very va-va-voom and it's also very her. Thoughts?
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE I-THINK-I-LIKE-IT: The more I look at this J Mendel armour-style dress on Elizabeth Moss (one of the celebrities I was most disappointed to find out was a Scientologist) the more I like it. I think it's one of those 'great-in-real-life-but-photographs-a-bit-crazy' jobs, but it suits her edgier personal style.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
A BEST CONTENDER: While I never expected I'd see this much of Amy Adams' inner boob on the red carpet EVER, there's no denying she's an absolute knock-out in Valentino. Also, she wins least-contrived ergo best updo of the night so far.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: Wow, would you check out Sarah Hyland's power brow?! This Georges Hobeika gown isn't going to be one of my faves of the night because of the stocky waist, but it is quite lovely, and Sarah so often gets it wrong.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: I ALWAYS forget that the Khaleesi is actually a brunette: Emilia Clarke looks perfectly lovely in this Proenza Schouler gown. I love her glossy hair, dig those bangles and adore the subtle waves of material in the dress.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD (MATERNITY EDITION): Everyone knew Kerry Washington was preggos, even though she hadn't confirmed it, but now we definitely know! So that's sorted ... and the fact that she's a full fashion icon has now been cemented by the fact Balenciaga made her this custom gown (I love the little homage to Olivia Pope - who always wears white).
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
A BEST CONTENDER: Cate Blanchett + Armani Prive = red carpet gold. I'm almost cowering, she looks so fierce. Like a really super hot headmistress, schooling us all in how to work a gown.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE ARCHETYPAL: This Zac Posen gown is VERY Sofia Vergara, and while there's nothing wrong with having a sense of personal style, I do find myself a touch bored. That said, she looks amazing and I guess at least it isn't a mermaid gown.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE MEH: Oh dear. There are many things Jennifer Lawrence's Dior dress looks like ... toilet paper that's accidentally gotten soaked and a body strapped to a gurney are a few that come to mind. She looks beautiful (although I would've gone for a slightly less brown lippie) but she needs to text break up with Raf Simons immediately.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE I'M JUST NOT SURE: If you explained this pastel-meets-black Prabal Gurung dress to me I would think I'd hate it, but Sandra Bullock somehow makes it work. How does she do it? The only thing that's holding me back from loving it are the colours ... I'd prefer bolder accents and a softer middle.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: Reese Witherspoon looks ferosh' (if a little dated) in this Calvin Klein Collection dress (I'm severely disliking her soccer mom bangs, however).
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BEST (MATERNITY EDITION): Olivia Wilde is due in just four months time and yet is still rocking slinky sequin Gucci. That's a pro. Love her ombre, dig the dress and love how she told Ryan Seacrest that she's stoked to be pregnant because: "I've never had boobs before!".
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: This is not my type of dress at all, but it would be remiss to suggest Taylor Swift looks anything but beautiful in Carolina Herrera. I even like the red lip with the pink gown.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: Kate Beckinsale should pretty much copyright this style on the red carpet because she always owns it. This particular incarnation of her brand of glam is by Zuhair Murad. Side note: has she been in ANYTHING recently?
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD: Mila Kunis looks like she's about to smack somebody, but that doesn't stop the fact that this Gucci Premiere halter gown is next level hot.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BAD: Paula Patton looks like she's in the middle of 'hulking out' of this Stephane Rolland dress (except she's a white Hulk, not a green one). This woman does not know how to dress herself, full stop.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE MEH: Can we deal with Jessica Chastain's hair first? She looks like an old balding man who's holding on to having a full mane and so backcombs to the extreme (but not successfully so that you can still see the bald patches poking through). Think Donald Trump. Also, this Givenchy dress is snoozeville ... and wonky.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE LOVELY: Michelle Dockery looks quite the lady in Oscar de la Renta - I'm also loving this softer hair on her too.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BEST CONTENDER: This is a huge call, but I think this Jenny Packham dress might be Helen Mirren's most wonderful yet. The colour combo is amazing, the draping artful and the cut so flattering.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BAD: I had to check the date on this image to make sure I hadn't accidentally dialled up the 1995 Golden Globes which is A) flattering to Heidi Klum's ageing scenario B) not a compliment of this outfit. She's wearing a CHOKER. Nuff' said.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BAD: Is Julia Roberts now a Brethren? I remember when it was cool to wear a boob tube over a white shirt, but that was also a time during which The Spice Girls were top of the charts. This Dolce & Gabbana dress is a fail.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE BAD: Is Zoe Saldana making herself feel ill with this Prabal Gurung dress? That would be understandable. This could be a lovely-in-real-life dress, but in photos it just looks like a piece of negligee hot mess.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GREAT: Stop the press folks, Julia Louis Dreyfus is fifty-freaking-two - how smoking does she look in this Narciso dress? Also, my Veep girl crush got me googling her recently, and do you know she's heiress to billions of dollars (her French dad is mega loaded). She's amazing AND rich.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GREAT: A newly blonde Kate Mara came out to support her show House of Cards wearing a futuristic J Mendel gown. For me, this is a smash hit - it's different yet still elegant.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE GOOD (PREGNANCY EDITION): If Drew Barrymore wasn't up the duff, then this Monique Lhuillier gown would be a fail, but the floral ensemble is a fun way to cover one's bump. PS: DAMN YOU Monique what's-your-face for having a name that I have to Google to spellcheck EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Best & worst dressed: Golden Globes
THE MOST DIFFERENT: When I saw wee Emma Watson's Dior dress from the front I was all, 'NEXT, no soup for you', but from the back?! Hot diggity dog she's wearing pants ... and a dress ... and it looks amazing. '
