Christchurch police are seeking information about a white or silver Daihatsu four-wheel-drive in connection with a string of golf club burglaries across Canterbury.

Detective Sergeant Rex Barnett said a man was seen with the vehicle near the Amberley Golf Club on January 19 - the same night a green fees box at the club was broken into, along with an honesty box at the Amberley Beach Holiday Park.

A group of men four-wheel-driving nearby saw a man get out of the vehicle and act suspiciously.

They reported hearing what sounded like a door being kicked, Barnett said.

Seventeen burglaries at golf clubs across the region had been reported to police since January 10, with some premises targeted more than once.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or its driver is asked to contact Barnett by calling 03 313 6167.
