If you bought your Big Wednesday Lotto ticket in Kaikoura it would pay to check it carefully - it might be worth $8.6 million.
Someone, somewhere, has a ticket bought in Kaikoura that bears the winning numbers from last night's Big Wednesday draw.
The winning numbers were 3, 9, 13, 19, 30, 33 and the coin toss resulted in a heads.
The prize comprises $7.08m in cash plus luxury prizes, including a Lamborghini, an Audi Q7 and $50,000 on a Visa Platinum card with an additional $74,793 in second division.
It has been some years since a ticket in Kaikoura won a big Lotto prize, although a Blenheim family won $10.8 million in Lotto last April.
Lotto corporate communications manager Emilia Mazur said at the time the family waited three weeks to claim their $10.8m win, so they could consult financial experts and ensure they were adequately prepared.
"We encourage all big winners to seek professional financial advice to help create a sound financial plan for what they want to do with their money."
