Manhunt for James Brown over
Police have found alleged fugitive James Brown.
This afternoon, acting Detective Senior Sergeant Sarah Illingworth said Brown had not been arrested but was "no longer wanted".
"We're dealing with him at the moment."
Illingworth would not reveal any more details.
The Press understands that Brown is in Christchurch Hospital.
A Canterbury District Health Board spokeswoman said she could not provide details on his condition because he had "requested privacy".
Brown, 47, had been on the run from police after he allegedly assaulted his partner and claimed to have a gun in Cumnor Tce, Woolston, last Thursday morning.
A police manhunt for him included house raids by the armed offenders squad and appeals to the public for information.
