Police have caught three people who were driving a stolen vehicle in Christchurch.

About 2.30pm, police saw a stolen vehicle in the Mairehau-Burwood area and began pursuing it.

After about a minute's chase, the occupants abandoned the car near the corner of Travis Rd and Anzac Dr and ran from the scene.

One of the occupants was caught at the scene, and two others were tracked with police dogs and caught.

Cordons are still in place in the area around Kingsbridge Dr.
