A time-lapse video of the demolition of Lyttelton's iconic Volcano Cafe and Lava Bar has hit the web.

The building was among several in London St, the town's main street, demolished on Friday because they had been severely damaged in February's earthquake.

The building had moved more than 15 centimetres on its foundations.

Owner Peter Evans has said there would be no attempt to recreate the Volcano.
