Christchurch earthquake zone map
In June, the Government released its long-awaited land report dividing Christchurch and Waimakariri into colour-coded zones.
Red is the colour of loss for the owners of 5100 homes, mainly in the eastern suburbs, who will receive a Government buyout offer and will have to leave their quake-hit land within nine months.
Orange is the shade of uncertainty, leaving another 10,500 owners with more assessments to find out whether they can stay or go.
Most of the city is green for rebuilding.
Further assessments are also required in the white zones, which were largely the hill suburbs.
