Engineers assess clock tower risk
The clock tower on Moorhouse Ave is facing an uncertain future after it was damaged in the quake.
Engineers were taking a closer look at the clock tower on former railway station building on Moorhouse Avenue.
The tower has been cordoned off since the 7.1 magnitude quake hit.
The clock stopped working at 4:36 on September 4 when the quake struck.
Mayor Bob Parker went up in a cherry picker this morning for a closer look at the tower.
