A 4WD wound up on its roof today in a central-city accident, but its driver escaped with minor injuries.

Southern Police Communications Inspector Murray Hurst said the accident was called in at about 10.20am.

Traffic around the intersection of St Asaph and Colombo streets was held up for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
