Police arrest alleged flasher
Police investigating incidents of men indecently exposing themselves to Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) students have made an arrest.
Police said a 26-year-old Christchurch man identified by police from CCTV images taken at the central city campus was arrested this morning.
The man will face three charges of committing an indecent act, relating to separate incidents in September and October.
No court date has been set yet.
Police said a second, separate offender had also been identified, who police were yet to locate.
Police said four incidents had occurred on afternoons and evenings since mid-August.
There were at least eight female victims in total, aged 18 to 30.
''We are still asking for people to come forward and report any similar incidents," a police spokesman said.
CPIT acting chief executive Darren Mitchell urged students on the Madras St campus to be vigilant and phone 111 if they were targeted.
Any victims who had not come forward, or anyone who had seen suspicious activity in and around the campus, should phone Senior Constable Stefen Harris on 021 191 1753, as well as the campus security staff on 027 540 8076.
