What do you call a group of wizards? A coven? A fellowship?

Whatever the right name is, a fantastical group was spotted in Christchurch today.

The Wizard of Christchurch put an appeal out last year looking for apprentices who may one day take his crown, and it appears his call was answered.

The wizard and his two apprentices, Trent Appleman and Ari Freeman, were spotted taking in the sun today in his new haunt, New Regent St.

Following a hiatus after the earthquakes, when the wizard was seldom seen in the city, he has since become a regular fixture in the refurbished street.

Along with his double-ended Volkswagen, he is frequently found perched outside a cafe chatting to locals.

How do you feel about the city's first anchor project, the Avon River Precinct?

Fantastic. It will transform the city

Ambivalent. The city needs more than a river precinct to recover

Not impressed. The design narrows the river
