A paraglider was injured in an accident in the Port Hills yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the area near the Christchurch Gondola about 1.15pm.

Police said a 33-year-old woman, who had about three weeks of flying experience, had a broken ankle.

She was flown to Christchurch Hospital by Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
