Christchurch City councillor Sally Buck is stepping down after five terms.

Buck, who has represented the Fendalton-Waimairi ward for 15 years, said she decided a few months ago she would not seek re-election as she wanted to focus on "other things" in her work and personal life, saying: "I don't have time to do these other things and stand for council."

She will stand for the Fendalton-Waimairi Community Board.

Cr Barry Corbett is also standing down after five terms.
