Two people have minor injuries after a crash between a milk tanker and two cars in south Canterbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash, near Hinds, at about 4.20pm.

A St John spokesman said two people were being transported to Ashburton hospital with minor injuries.

A rescue helicopter had left Christchurch to go to the crash, but was turned back as there were no serious injuries.
