A 10-year-old girl has been hit by a car in Waikuku this afternoon. 

The incident took place outside a property on Tulls Rd, but there were no indications of whether the girl was on the road at the time. 

She was treated at the scene before being transferred to Christchurch Hospital by St John Ambulance.
