Two cars have collided on Main North Road, near Woodend Beach Road, in North Canterbury.

More than one person has been injured in the crash, which happened at about 12.30pm.

Northbound traffic was being diverted down Woodend Beach Road, while emergency services worked to clear the scene, a police communications spokesman said.
