Two men have died following a boating accident in Kaikoura yesterday.

Auguste Robin Reinke's body was recovered this morning in Whaler's Bay.

Reinke, 79, was checking crayfish pots yesterday with Ronald Clarence Monk, 75.

Police said the pair set out about 7am in the five-metre boat. Shortly after 8am the boat was found partially submerged.

Monk's body was found yesterday, but searchers had to return this morning to continue looking for Reinke.
His body was spotted from the air and recovered by the Police dive team.

The matter has been referred to the Coroner.
