One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Christchurch this afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Edmonton and Klondyke drives, in Hornby, about 1.15pm today.

A Fire Service spokesman said one person had been trapped in their vehicle following the crash between a car and a truck.

A St John spokeswoman said a female was cut out of one of the vehicles and taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.

No one else was believed to have been injured in the crash.
