Police hunt for bus-stop attackers
A man has been taken to hospital with a broken arm and facial injuries after being assaulted at a bus stop in Riccarton yesterday evening.
The assault happened near the corner of Lyndon and Clarence streets about 6.30pm and police are seeking the public's help to identify the two men they believe are responsible for the vicious attack.
The first man police are looking is Maori or Polynesian, aged in his early to mid 20s, with short black hair, a stocky build, and about 180cm tall.
He has small tattoos on his arms and was wearing a black T-shirt and long black trousers.
The second man is European, with medium-length blonde or brown hair. He is also aged in his 20s and was wearing a white short-sleeved top.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the assault or two males chasing another male on Clarence St, towards Riccarton Mall.
They also want to speak to a man in a white utility vehicle who spoke to the victim shortly after the assault as he may have seen the suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Richard Quested on 3634 880.
