What are your memories of closing schools?
Nine schools will close their doors for the final time at the end of this year.
The move is part of the reshaping of education in Christchurch and surrounding districts under the Government's Greater Christchurch Education Renewal programme.
Manning Intermediate, Branston Intermediate, Linwood Intermediate, Glenmoor School, Kendal School, Richmond School, and Greenpark School will officially close before the 2014 school year.
Burwood and Windsor School will also be the first schools to close and merge from the beginning of 2014.
The Press wants to recognise the importance of these schools in their communities and is seeking input from readers.
What memories do you have of these schools? Were you a pupil, a parent, or a staff member at any of them? Did you have a great teacher, made a friend for life, learnt a skill you'll never forget? Write and tell us in about 300 words, and send any relevant pictures you have from your school days.
Tell us your story, share a memory, send in a picture by clicking on the green submission button.
