A man has been taken to Christchurch Hospital after a collision between a moped and car this morning.

Inspector Rick Jury said traffic was flowing again after the crash at the Riccarton Rd and Mandeville St intersection at 8.15am.

He said it appeared the moped rider was taken to hospital. There was no information on his condition.

Meanwhile, emergency services were called to a crash at the QEII Drive and Marshland Rd intersection about 9.45pm last night, after a Honda Civic carrying two youths skidded and crashed into a power pole.

The occupants were treated by St John staff.
