Drivers should expect delays on the corner of St Asaph St and Manchester St this week.

The Christchurch Transport Operations Centre (CTOC) said contractors would be working at the intersection daily from 9am to 6pm.

Today and tomorrow, no south-bound traffic on Manchester St will be able to go through the intersection and a detour will be in place.

Also, no left-hand turn will be permitted into St Asaph St for north-bound Manchester St traffic.

The restrictions will change later in the week.
