Motorists heading north out of central Christchurch could face delays after a two-car crash this evening.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash at the intersection of Kilmore and Manchester streets just before 5pm today.

A St John spokesman said two people were being treated by paramedics, but the extent of their injuries was not yet known.

A police spokesman said traffic was flowing following the "t-bone" crash, but some delays were possible while the crash site was cleared.
