A showery start to the school holidays may keep Christchurch kids indoors this morning.

The MetService is forecasting a cloudy day with light winds and a high of 11 degrees Celsius in Christchurch. Sunshine is set to return to the city tomorrow with dry, cool weather until Thursday.

Rain is forecast for Friday.

For those who have headed south for ski holidays, Queenstown is expecting a settled day, but watch out for patches of ice on the roads.

Back in Christchurch, Park Tce has reopened to two-way traffic from Kilmore Street to Armagh Street. This stretch of Park Tce has been restricted to southbound traffic only for the last few months.
