Christchurch faces a brisk day of northeasterlies and delayed road works in New Brighton.


Christchurch residents can expect a brisk day with a high of 11 degrees Celsius.

MetService is forecasting drizzle at times and freshening northeasterlies.

Mt Hutt is open and the sun is expected to break through a thin layer of high cloud at times.


Roads works in New Brighton Rd have been delayed until next week.

It will be one-way for east-bound drivers only, from July 14, between Bassett St and Stour Dr.

The restriction will continue until early next month.

A detour for west-bound drivers will be in place via Stour Dr, Vivian St and Reginald St.
