Kaiapoi is getting a bit of a beauty treatment next week as the council kick starts its project to repair bridges, footpaths, and roads.

The township has been looking a bit shabby of late with earthquake-generated cracks and damaged roads.

On Monday, things will start to be put to rightsunder phase two of the Kaiapoi Town Centre Bridge Repairs and Improvement Project.

The first area to be dealt with is the Williams St roundabout and the Williams St bridge. Works are expected to be completed by the end of June.

Parts of Williams St will be temporarily closed to allow work to progress as quickly as possible. Detours will be in place.
