Canterbury 1 moved up the leaderboard with a 9-0 win over Allenton to be just three points behind Belfast on 18 with Sumner, who were beaten in the singles and pairs, to gain only three points from the round after leading the competition the previous round.
A feature of the round was Allenton's Rod Greaney's singles with Andrew Kelly (Canterbury) with Greaney finally succumbing 30-31.
In division one, section two, Riccarton Racecourse continues to set the pace on 21 points, despite winning only the singles in their game with Bowls Papanui with Paul Matheson (Riccarton Racecourse) again winning his game, this time 31-23 over the veteran Brian McGowan to remain unbeaten after four rounds. Three teams make up second place on 15 points – Papanui Club, Redcliffs and Bowls Papanui.
