Mainland Pride are just two points away from clinching a home semifinal berth in the National Women's League after a convincing 2-0 win over Capital Football.

Goals in each half to Lauren Dabner and Monique Barker at English Park yesterday ensured Mainland continued their unbeaten run at the top of the southern conference points table.

The Pride have 10 points from four matches and complete their double round-robin with visits to Dunedin and Palmerston North.

The Wellington-based Capital Football were rated the Pride's closest rivals.

However, the Pride players deserved their two-goal victory.

Central beat Football South 5-4 in Palmerston North in the other southern conference game.
