Defending champions Ferrymead Bays have moved to the top of the table in Mainland Football.
Their 3-0 victory over FC Twenty11 on Friday night, coupled with Nelson Suburbs only managing a 2-all draw with Western meant the Bays side have firmed into favouritism to take out the title again this year.
Their victory also meant they claimed the Hurley Challenge Shield off FC Twenty11.
Bays goals on Friday night came from Russell Kamo, Josh Smith and Chris Moore as they dominated their opponents all over the park.
Coastal Spirit kept themselves in the top four with a 2-0 victory over Christchurch United.
The competition's leading goal scorer Gareth Turnbull put one into the back of the net with the other added by Ryan Faichnie.
Cashmere Technical kept in tact with the leading two sides with a 3-0 demoltion of Halswell courtesy of goals to Andy Barton, Ken Yamamoto and Simon Gatward-Smith.
The women's action saw cellar-dwellers University gain their first victory of the season when they rolled the third placed Cashmere Technical 1-0 today.
University's goal came courtesy of Liz Gilchrist.
Halswell and FC Twenty11 fought out a 1-all draw in the middle of the table battle.
