Kiwi-developed MMO/FPS hybrid Forge is now available on Internet download service Steam.
Christchurch-based Digital Confectioners were tapped to handle all the programming for the game after word of their Unreal Engine prowess reached Forge producers, California-based Dark Vale Games.
A graduate of the platform's Greenlight system, Forge is US$19.99 (NZ$24.11) for two copies of the game until December 18.
The online class-based multiplayer shooter was unsuccessful in a Kickstarter bid earlier this year, but was always going to be finished, said Digital Confectioners.
At the time, developer Neil Reynolds expressed his desire to see the game become an eSport, citing its tight controls, PvP focus, and lack of grind as reasons why it would be a perfect fit for that scene.
