Samsung F8 LCD TV
Samsung's TVs have always been good lookers, and the Korean electronics manufacturer's latest, its F8 LCD TV, is no exception. In fact, it's a beautiful-looking thing.
Available in 40-inch ($4999), 46-inch ($6999), and 52-inch models ($9999), the F8 offers full 1080p high-definition resolutions (1920 pixels by 1080 pixels), three HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) connections and what Samsung calls MotionsPLUS, technology that inserts additional frames in the picture, eliminating blurring. It also has a 25,000:1 contrast ratio and offers 2.2 channel audio. Nice.
The F8 was launched recently at the opening of Samsung's first New Zealand retail store in Auckland's Newmarket, where a Samsung executive, J. W. Kim, said the company wanted to be the No. 1 selling TV brand in New Zealand in 2008.
As well as LCD and plasma TVs, the Samsung store has cellphones, MP3 players, laser printers, LCD photo frames, fridges and washing machines on display.
