Flight Sim X: Acceleration

For: Windows PC

Classification: G

Score: three and a half stars

I'm glad I don't work for the United States Air Force, especially after crashing a multimillion-dollar F18/A Hornet fighter jet into the side of an aircraft carrier. It's fiddly stuff trying to get that tail hook down at the right time.

Fortunately, I was playing around on the latest update for Microsoft's long-time aviator's favourite, Flight Simulator.

Bringing about 35 new missions for Flight Sim X, Acceleration gives you a large dollop of aeronautical excitement with missions and tasks that involve more than just checking the autopilot every now and then just before you catch another nap.

This time you'll head to rough seas to rescue stricken sailors, intercept strange UFO goings-on above a military airbase and deliver equipment in conditions that will test your hoist skills as well as your piloting ability.

In fact, there's something for every pilot out there, from the chap who wants to captain a huge jumbo jet to the teenager who wants to just pull barrel rolls in the aforementioned F18/A Hornet.

Good value for money. Chock's away.
