Police in China arrested hundreds of people for allegedly spreading Doomsday rumours.

Police collected and destroyed apolocalypse material they say was distributed by the arrested members of the 'Almighty God' cult.

Members of the cult believe that today marks the end of the world as determined by the Mayan calendar but police say they also call for an end to Communist Party rule.
