Body found on Timaru beach
Police have confirmed the body found 11.00am on a Timaru beach today is that of vision and hearing-impaired woman Shelley Lurajud.
Senior sergeant Mark Offen said it appeared the 43-year-old woman had fallen from the cliff onto the rocks.
"We are not looking for anyone else. A post mortem will be conducted tomorrow in Christchurch and then it will be up to the coroner to decide," he said.
Lurajud's body was found by police at Dashing Rocks, Timaru, this morning.
The body was taken to the mortuary and formally identified at 5.40pm
Lurajud was last seen late on Tuesday afternoon.
It had been out of character for her to go missing as she kept in regular contact with her family, police said.
