Roncalli College and Timaru Boys' High School each struck gold early on the final day of the Maadi Cup.

Cameron Crampton faced off against his twin Russell in the under single, and sculler a powerful race, always out front, to win gold by over a length.

Russell was in a tight tussle for bronze but in the end was beaten to the podium by 0.02 seconds.

Roncalli's fancied under 15 double of Libby Davenport and Kate Shaw cruised to gold after a flying start, winning by three boat lengths, to give their school it's first title of the regatta.

Craighead's Sarah Dyke and Emma Harrison were the surprise package, finishing third to Roncalli in an excellent scull.
