Cloud accounting software company Xero has appointed Chris Liddell as chairman, and established the new role of North America chief executive.
The appointments, including a further US-based director, follows a US$150 million ($180 million) capital raising in October.
"As you would expect from a fast expanding software company, our strategy is to increase US representation on our board," said Xero founder and CEO Rod Drury
New North America CEO is Peter Karpas, and Bill Veghte has been appointed as a director.
Liddell led GM's global finance operations and its US$23 billion IPO in November 2010.
Based in San Francisco, Veghte has been appointed an independent non-executive director. He runs HP's Enterprise Group where he is executive vice president and general manager.
Last month, Xero appointed Chorus sales and marketing boss Victoria Crone as New Zealand managing director.
Xero shares were up 39c, or 98 per cent, at $40.39 after the announcement.
