Rabbit numbers in the eastern Mackenzie Basin have increased post-Christmas, the Canterbury Regional Council says.

Farm profit before tax for Marlborough/Canterbury farmers was up 42 per cent on average on last year at $154,500 per farm according to a new report from meat industry group Beef+Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ).
