They've performed their last act and now it's up to New Zealand to vote.

The journey to find the next big thing has reached the final stages and almost 900,000 tuned in to watch the grand final of New Zealand's Got Talent.

The two-hour final, which aired last night, saw the remaining 12 contestants compete for the chance to win $100,000.

One of the favourites, Marlborough school girl Clara Van Wel, gave a "hauntingly beautiful" performance of an original piece.

Judge Jason Kerrison, who was moved to tears, told the 15-year-old  "I think you are it".

Another favourite with both the crowd and the judges was Waitara singer-song-writer Mihirangi Fleming.

Commenters on New Zealand's Got Talent's Facebook page sung Fleming's praises.

"Mihirangi is amazing! I was very moved by her performance," said Caroline Spence.

Jennifer Wrapler said her vote would also go to Fleming.

"She is so unique and creative and talented in so many different genre's plus she is a work in progress which will evolve as time goes on....amazing."

Text voting opened last night and will run through until midday tomorrow.

According to Nielson figures, 794,350 aged five and over tuned in to watch last night's show.

TVNZ declined to release figures for how many votes had already been cast. The winner will be announced next Sunday at 7.30 pm on TV ONE.
