Anna Guy looks set to leap from her intern's role at a Manawatu radio station to TV3's flagship current affairs show, giving a series of first-person news reports on her life.

Mediaworks have confirmed Guy will give "three short reports" on TV3's new political and current affairs show 3rd Degree, giving an insight into her life as she works to move on from a double tragedy.

Guy is the sister of slain Feilding farmer Scott Guy and the estranged wife of Ewen Macdonald, the man found not guilty of the 2010 killing.

However, Macdonald was imprisoned for five years after pleading guilty to charges of criminal damage, arson and theft.

TV3's new show 3rd Degree will be co-hosted by Duncan Garner and Guyon Espiner and is set to air in the new year, replacing 60 Minutes which wrapped up on December 2.

Executive producer Terence Taylor confirmed after much speculation, that while she would not be hosting or joining the reporting team on the show, she would be reporting her own story.

"She will be appearing in three stories which will be about herself  - talking about how she is  dealing with the twin tragedies that have befallen her, the loss of her brother and the imprisonment of her husband, and how she is establishing a new life for herself.

"We will be with her as she goes to visit Ewen in jail, as she says goodbye to family and friends in Feilding, and as she moves to Auckland to set up home."

Talking about the show to Garner on Radio Live tonight, Guy said it would "definitely not" be like reality television.

Guy first featured on More FM Manawatu's Mike West In The Morning breakfast show last month.

Guy carried out a week of interning, where on-air she was referred to as ''intern Anna'' .

She covered lighter fare from weather reports, entertainment news and talking about the ''weekend wars'' of listeners.
