Ashton Kutcher has officially filed for divorce from Demi Moore.

The 34-year-old actor and the 50-year-old actress separated after six years of marriage in November 2011.

The former couple decided to end their relationship after rumours surfaced that the Two and a Half Men star cheated on Demi during their sixth wedding anniversary in September of last year.

People magazine reports that Ashton submitted annulment documents to Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (local time).

He is not asking for any spousal support and is not requesting that the court deny Demi any, should she request it.

Ashton has hired celebrity attorney Laura Wasser to represent him in the divorce proceedings. Laura’s previous clients include Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Heidi Klum.

Demi and Ashton do not share any children with one another.

At the announcement of their separation last year, Demi revealed why she decided to call it quits with Ashton.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she released in a statement.

Ashton is currently dating Mila Kunis.
