Ever wondered what it would be like to be a politician? Now is your chance to find out.

Rangitata MP Jo Goodhew is looking for a young person keen to provide a youth perspective for the country's decision-makers.

Youth Parliament is held once every three years and gives young people the opportunity to understand and participate in the decision-making process. The person chosen will join 120 other Youth MPs at Parliament on July 16-17. Mrs Goodhew is seeking applications from young people aged 16 to 18 to be included in the Youth MP selection process for the Rangitata electorate.

Each school nominates one candidate, who will be interviewed by Mrs Goodhew before the final selection is announced on April 5.

Nominated Youth MPs hold the title from May 1 to December 31 and are expected to engage with the community during that time.

Anyone interested should contact their school principal or access further information at beheard@youthparliament.govt.nz.
