The 18-piece Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra has been confirmed as the headline act for this year's Harbour St Jazz Festival.

The orchestra has performed in England, at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, in the United States, Sydney, and in many towns and cities in New Zealand.

Oamaru will be swinging during the celebrations which are being held during Otago Anniversary Weekend at the end of March.

The jazz-packed weekend programme will include buskers and bands in the main street on Saturday, a big programme at the Oamaru Farmers' Market plus a concert for staff and residents of rest homes and community groups at the Loan and Merc on Sunday afternoon. The grand finale will be the cabaret on Sunday evening.

Tickets to the orchestra can be purchased online through TicketDirect.
