FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28
Growing Up: Grantlea Downs School is having its biannual "Grow It" event from noon-2pm to raise money to further beautify the school grounds. There will be a range of exhibits the students have created both at home and at school, from fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants. There will also be stalls connected to each class enterprise involving crafts, food, games and competitions.
SATURDAY, MARCH 1
Show time: Temuka & Geraldine A & P Assn's show on from 11am, at the Winchester Showgrounds, Winchester. Enjoy the many events including dog trials, horse events, wool and pet sections, future farmers and bachelor bake-off, and also poultry, alpacas and vintage section. A special event will be "Winchester's Got Talent".
Rev The Engine: Super Truck Racing is on this weekend from 9am-5pm today and tomorrow, at the Timaru International Motor Raceway. Enjoy the racing with Super Trucks, OSCA/ Sports Saloons, Pro 7, Mini 7, NZ 6, Pre 65, Clubmans Saloons.
Find Your Treasures: Antique Fair is on at the Celtic Sports Centre, Cnr Craigie Ave and Browne St, Timaru, from 10am-5pm and 10am-4pm tomorrow. Gold coin donation to Hospice South Canterbury.
Variety Evening: Roncalli Rowing presents 'Variety Evening' at the Roncalli Gym, Timaru. The evening has live music, a fashion show by DCode, a live auction, guest performers and lip sync performers.
SUNDAY, MARCH 2
Family Fun: South Canterbury Annual Children's Day is on from 10am-2pm at the Caroline Bay Hall, Timaru. Plenty of family activities, join the fun.
Teds On Parade: Happening at 11am with Port FM. It's part of Children's Day at the Caroline Bay Hall. Bring your teddy and be in to win prizes. There will also be a lolly scramble.
Game on: Catch the action at the 50/50 cricket, Canterbury Wizards Vs Otago Volts, at the Aorangi Oval from 10.30am.
Hit The Hills: The Pass2Pub Family Mountain Bike Ride for all ages and abilities is on today. The 36km cross- country ride starts at Burkes Pass in the Mackenzie Country and travels through valleys, across streams, farm tracks and shingle roads to the finish at the Albury Tavern. Heaps of spot prizes, plenty of race categories. A fundraiser for the Albury School.
Top School: This event, for South Canterbury primary schools, years 4-6, is on at West End Park from 10.30am-3pm. Top Schools is run by local Rotary clubs.
