Bikers meet: Two-wheeled transport will be the way to go in Waimate this weekend with the 28th annual Mare Hare rally expected to attract 2200 motorcyclists.
The majority will set up camp at the Waimate A & P showgrounds today.
Coastal action: Seaweek will be celebrated at Caroline Bay from 3-5pm. This free family event will provide information about our local penguins and marine mammals, pesky critters, the bay, dunes, coastal plants and Timaru Yacht Club. There will also be an "environmental hunt" and a chance to help with planting out the dunes. Meet at the grassed area near the viewing platform.
Walk, walk, walk: Relay for Life, the Cancer Society fundraiser, starts at 4pm. A tent city will spring up on Caroline Bay as participants spend the next 18 hours walking to raise funds for the cause.
