The best of British vehicles will be out in full force to celebrate her majesty's birthday.
About 150 cars will be on display at Caroline Bay on Sunday as part of the All British Vehicle Day.
Organiser Grant Stewart said there will be a bit of everything, from luxury and sports cars to everyday cars from the 50s and 60s.
The cars also range in years from an early 1930s Alvis through to 1990s Jaguars.
"They all create their distinctive oil pattern on the ground."
Stewart said that after the morning display they will head off on a mystery run.
Although he couldn't spill the beans on the route, he said it would give the drivers a chance to see the snow on the mountains.
This is the 22nd year the South Canterbury Vintage Car Club has held the event.
Stewart said half the cars in the event are coming from outside South Canterbury.
He said at this stage the weather is looking fine. However, there are inside, wet-weather options.
