Craighead Diocesan students experienced the passion for Shakespeare the big city had to offer at the finals of the SGCNZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival.

Year 13 students Kerri Wheeler and Emma Lindblom, along with year 12 student Anna Tarver, represented Craighead in the five- minute section at the Wellington finals over Queen's Birthday Weekend.

Kerri and Emma were student co-directors of their extract from Macbeth. It was the third time Emma and Kerri had been involved in the Sheilah Winn Festival and the first time the girls had been to the Wellington finals.

Although they didn't win any awards, Kerri and Emma said it was a good experience getting to see all the different schools performing and to mingle with like-minded people.

"It was really different to how we do things here. They were passionate about theatre with an awesome knowledge about Shakespeare," said Kerri.

Being in Wellington gave them a chance to see what courses were on offer for a future career in theatre and performing arts, which Emma and Kerri are considering.
