A Dutch tourist is facing a charge of failing to give way following a crash near Rangitata.
The tourist was turning onto State Highway 79 from SH1 and was in a collision with an oncoming vehicle, at 12.35pm on Tuesday.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged. A person in the oncoming vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
Young Geraldine road safety campaigner Sean Roberts, 10, visited Parliament yesterday to present a petition on the issue.
Sean, whose father was killed by a tourist driver, wants overseas drivers to sit a test before they can drive on New Zealand roads.
