Roncalli pays tribute to patron saint
Roncalli College celebrated their patron saint, Pope St John XXIII, yesterday.
Roncalli Day marks the canonisation of Pope St John XXIII, born Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, who the school is named after. His actual canonisation was on April 27, which fell during the school holidays.
Students and teachers gathered for a ''picture flip'', attempting to make a picture of Pope St John XXIII. The picture flip involved 483 panels held up by students and teachers and was thought up by English teacher Conrad Stewart.
Other activities throughout the day included a staff breakfast, a whole school mass at the Sacred Heart Basilica and a shared lunch for all the students.
