Timaru has another high pollution day
Timaru has experienced its 19th high-pollution day this year.
The health guideline of an average of less than 50 micrograms of suspended particulate per cubic metre of air over a 24 hours period, was exceeded yesterday when 53mcg was measured at the Anzac Square monitoring site.
Despite a run of mild weather, it was the fifth high-pollution day in the last week. By this time last year 12 high-pollution days had been recorded in Timaru.
